The use of batteries in portable devices, electric cars, and more has caused the cumulative installed capacity of Lithium-ion cells to grow by a factor of 50,000 over the last 30 years and the price to drop by a factor of 40! It is the preferred battery technology for many applications because it offers a very high energy density and can be manufactured cost effectively at large scale. Even with the impressive improvements in recent years, there is a persistent & growing demand for increased performance and lower manufacturing costs. That makes battery technology a prime research topic for academia and industry.

Many critical electronic materials like conductive inks, solder paste, thermal management materials, potting compounds, adhesives & sealants, protective & decorative coatings, and more require mixing prior to application. A programmable mechanical mixer ensures that these products are mixed thoroughly and in a repeatable manner. Vacuum mixing may further improve performance, especially for conductive materials or materials that will be cured at elevated temperatures.
